The Residence
A 17th-Century Residence in the Fortified Village of Vicalvi
Welcome to the ancient Vicus Albus (Vicalvi), the village of the historic 11th-century castle, set in the heart of the Comino Valley in Ciociaria.
You will stay in a centuries-old 17th-century residence, built with stone staircases, that will take you back in time.
You will discover the wonder of spacious rooms within a fortified medieval village at the foot of the majestic medieval Castle.
You will feel as though living in a past made of handmaidens and jesters, tournaments and investitures, ladies and knights.
The Rooms
Period Rooms, Modern Comfort
Guests will have exclusive use of the entire villa.
The 140 square-metre apartment consists of a living room, three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a kitchen.
Through a restoration deeply respectful of the site's historic importance, yet sensitive to the need for maximum comfort, the house is a successful example of innovation within tradition. Antique furniture and fine finishes are found in warm rooms fitted with brand-new systems.
Bedrooms
Three welcoming and evocative bedrooms where antique furniture and fine fabrics blend together, giving you dream nights wrapped in history.
Kitchen
You will have a charming kitchen, partly built into the large fireplace hood yet fully practical, equipped with oven, fridge and dishwasher along with everything you need (pots, dishes and kitchen linen). A washing machine is also available, completing the apartment for a stay with every comfort.
Bathrooms
The two bathrooms, finished with fine materials, combine refined aesthetics with maximum functionality, offering a genuine oasis of wellness and relaxation.
Garden and Orchard
The house has two gardens: let yourself be won over by the magic of a garden with aromatic plants such as sage, savory, lavender, thyme and bay laurel... You will have the privilege of strolling through the enchanting, vast orchard of almost a thousand square metres, embraced by the castle's second ring of walls that traces its perimeter. Here, as you touch these imposing centuries-old walls with your own hands, your gaze will stretch to the horizon, looking out over the stunning Comino Valley.
Living Room
The living room retains its old-world charm intact: spacious, evocative, with a large fireplace — the perfect place to spend slow-paced evenings.
The Village
Between history and legend, the village of Vicalvi has stood since ancient times as a silent guardian over the Comino Valley.
